I've never been to an AYCE Japanese spot before, so I was quite pleased at the diverse selection of foods to choose from. My group's favs that we ordered multiple times: the garlic shrimp (beware: the spicy garlic shrimp is SPICY and this is coming from someone who loves spice), miso short rib, fried lotus root, miso soup, and black sesame ice cream. Great for groups.

The atmosphere is very nice in this location, plenty of space for seating and the prices are good for the amount you get. The meats were very fresh and it was juicy. I got the she so hungry meal for 2. The soy sauce was really good to dip with. ( was too hungry and didn't have a chance to take a picture of the meats :( the takoyaki was also very fresh and crispy yet soft.

Food (5/5): We got a bunch of appetizers and some sets while a friend of mine got the barbeque sets. Specifically we ordered the Okonomoyaki, Yakitori, Croquet, Negi toro udon set, tuna udon set, and qagyu beef sushi. All of the dishes were very good! Particularly I enjoyed the Yakitori and Okonomoyaki. The udon noodles were also of good quality with flavorful broth. The only complaint was from my friend who got the BBQ. For the quality and amount, he thought the price was too steep. Service (4/5): Overall good service with the waitress helping us when requested. Food came out reasonably fast. The only issue was that they didn't check up on us or refilled water that frequently after giving the food unless we waived them down to ask. Ambiance (5/5): There are two floors to this restaurant. We sat on the second floor. The place feels like an authentic Japanese restaurant with the wooden furniture and setup. Plenty of seating as well as space on the table.

It was my first time eating at Yakiniku West after seeing their weekday specials. On Wednesday they gave short ribs special and on Thursdays, salmon specials. We ordered 3x salmon toro (4 pieces each other), salmon collar, 2x salmon sashimi (5 pieces each other), and salmon collar for apps. The salmon did not disappoint especially with the Thursday special. We also tried beef tongue sashimi for the first time, it was interesting but it was slightly frozen so it didn't have much taste. For the main we ordered the mix platter for 2 for $60. The portion was decent for two people to share. We left pretty full and satisfied.

Customers have raved about the diverse selection of food and the fresh, juicy meats. The atmosphere is spacious and inviting, perfect for groups looking to enjoy a meal together. Favorites include the garlic shrimp, miso short rib, and black sesame ice cream. The service has received mixed reviews, with some noting slight portion sizes and inconsistent water refills.

On a personal note, my dining experience at Yakiniku West was delightful. The Okonomoyaki and Yakitori were standouts, and the udon noodles were flavorful. The ambiance, with its authentic Japanese feel, added to the overall dining experience. While prices may be on the higher side for some items, the quality of the dishes and the unique offerings make it a worthwhile visit. I recommend trying their specials, like the salmon on Thursdays, for a satisfying and fulfilling meal.
